Jester — A Season of Knives and Laughter
Dark medieval court intrigue: you are the King's fool. Juggle, jest and tumble to hold the King's mood through 12 candlelit feasts — and listen at the tables, for someone means to poison him tonight.
Jester
You are the King's fool. Each evening the court gathers in the great hall; you perform to keep His Majesty's mood from souring, and between acts you drift among the tables where the nobles whisper. The fool sees all — poison, forgery, theft. Expose the night's plot before it strikes, or watch the feast turn deadly.
How to play
- WASD — roam the hall during court duties and between acts
- Stand near whispering nobles to eavesdrop; guards who catch you lingering raise SUSPICION
- Space — juggle on the beat (
* * o *— press on the stars, rest on the o's) - 1 / 2 / 3 — pick the punchline the King's current temper favors
- Arrow keys — chain tumbling flips
- X near the dais — expose the plot you overheard to the King
- Esc — pause
The stakes
- The King's MOOD falls with every dropped ball and flat joke. At zero, you are banished.
- On poison nights, a missed plot ends the run.
- Survive all 12 evenings to be ranked — from lowly Fool to Royal Jester — by favor earned and secrets in your codex.
Progression
Rising crowd favor unlocks sharper jests, faster juggling patterns, longer tumbling chains and new motley costumes. Your season (day, mood, favor, codex) is saved — Continue picks up where the last bell left you.
Everything in the hall — architecture, furniture, the whole court — is authored with the voxel engine; the lute-and-tabor feast music and every sting are synthesized WAVs. Built entirely in-world.
