Pokémon Red — Kanto Vertical Slice
A faithful top-down Game Boy RPG rendered in a 160×144 4-shade green framebuffer. Choose a starter, battle wild Pokémon and trainers, catch, level up, heal, and reach Viridian City.
## Pokémon Red — Kanto Vertical Slice A complete, playable vertical slice of the classic Kanto adventure, built entirely as Zero world content: one Luau world-component drives the whole game into a **160×144 Game Boy framebuffer** (4-shade DMG green, nearest-neighbour integer scaling) displayed through a single `image` widget. ### Play - **Move:** Arrow keys / WASD - **A (confirm):** Z / Space / Enter · **B (cancel):** X · **Start (menu):** Enter ### Features - Tile-locked overworld with smooth tweened movement, per-map collision, and a follow camera across Pallet Town, Oak's Lab, Route 1, Viridian City, your home, and the Pokémon Center. - Talk to NPCs, read signs, pick a starter (Bulbasaur / Charmander / Squirtle) from Oak's table. - Tall-grass random encounters + trainer line-of-sight battles ("!" spot → forced fight). - Full turn-based battles: HP/PP/level/XP, four moves, an eight-type chart with STAB, catching, running, faint/switch, level-ups with move learning. - Party of up to 6, bag (Poké Balls & Potions), Pokémon Center healing, whiteout-and-respawn on a total party faint. - Start menu (Pokémon / Bag / Save / Option), save-and-continue persistence, chiptune music & SFX. - **Slice win:** choose a starter, beat your Rival on Route 1, and reach the Viridian City sign. All art (tiles, characters, creature sprites, the pixel font) and audio (square-wave chiptune) are authored procedurally in Luau — no external assets.
