Grand Line Odyssey

A cel-shaded open-world anime pirate RPG built in Zero. Sail a living stylized ocean between eight level-gated islands, take quests and brawl pirates and Marines for XP and Belly, and spend it on famous swords, buyable ships and eleven Devil Fruits on the road to the end of the Grand Line.

What is in it

Eight islands, one sea. Foosha Village (1–20), Orange Town (20–40), Syrup Village (40–60), Baratie (60–80), Arlong Park (80–110), Alabasta (110–160), Skypiea (160–220) and Water 7 (220–300), each with its own biome, weather, boss and landmark. Islands open by level.

Progression. Levels 1→300 on a real XP curve, Belly, and stats that scale. Seventeen quests, island-gated, credited by kill. Thirty-one enemies on the islands with aggro, timed strikes and loot, plus a boss on each of seven.

Eleven Devil Fruits — Gomu Gomu, Mera Mera, Bari Bari, Goro Goro, Ope Ope, Suna Suna, Pika Pika, Hie Hie, Magu Magu, Ito Ito and Mochi Mochi — each with two abilities, an Energy cost, a cooldown that shortens as mastery grows, and a passive. Seven named swords with rarity, damage and a special: Sandai Kitetsu, Wado Ichimonji, Shusui, Nidai Kitetsu, Ame no Habakiri, Enma and Kikoku.

The sea. A stylized ocean with a four-train swell that ships actually ride — a hull's height, pitch and roll are read from the same wave sum the water is drawn with. Seven buyable ship classes, boarding, steering, throttle, a destination marker and five AI traders working the lanes between ports.

Underwater. A reef, coral, a sunken galleon on its side, ruins and treasure on the seabed.

A day and its weather. One full day is 24 real minutes; the sun arcs, the light warms at dusk, torches light in the village, and per-island weather runs from sun to storm to Alabasta's sandstorm and Skypiea's lightning. Birds circle, shoals drift and fish breach.

Honest state

This is a complete, playable loop, not a finished commercial game. Known gaps, all of them visible and named in design/spec.md and the polish list:

  • It is silent. The score and every sound effect are unbuilt — generating them needed credits the run did not have. Everything behind the sound is wired and waiting.
  • The hero, ships, enemies and bosses wear stand-ins. They are correctly named SLOT_* entities at the right size and place; the generated models have not been made. The seven reference images in design/references/ are the target.
  • The sea is a flat surface with no foam or reflections: Zero's own ocean shader will not compile on this platform (reported), and an authored one has not been made yet.
  • Bosses fight but have no phases; fruit abilities land as damage rather than their distinct effects; there is no block/parry yet.
