What it does

meshkit

A small procedural geometry kit in pure Luau, used by the torqueCars body and wheel generators and usable for any generated hard-surface model. It collects a triangle soup with a per-triangle colour and provides these primitives: gridBox (the surface of a rounded cube sampled on chosen grids, bent through a map function, with vertex neighbours for post-processing and a colour callback per quad), box (rounded and rotated, optionally tapered), tube, tubePath, ellipsoid, lathe (around X), and quadOut / triOut to orient faces. finalize turns the soup into mesh arrays (positions, normals, colors, uvs, indices) with flat or angle-thresholded smooth normals and vertex welding, optionally normalised to the unit box with center / size reported. meshkit.C holds the car part colours, whose alpha is the carBody shader's part code.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

torqueCars meshkit: the geometry core the car body and wheel generators are built on. Pure Luau, deterministic, no engine calls except in `M.write`. local K = require("torqueCars.meshkit") local m = K.new() K.box(m, { center = vector.create(0, 1, 0), half = vector.create(1, .5, 2), round = .1, col = K.C.paint }) local g = K.finalize(m, { angle = 40, normalise = true }) -- { positions, normals, colors, uvs, indices, center, size, tris } Colours are { r, g, b, partCode } where the part code (alpha) tells the `carBody` shader which finish to use: 1 paint, .85 glass, .7 chrome, .55 gloss plastic, .4 trim/rubber, .25 front lamp, .1 tail lamp.
