What it does

aiKit.presets

Every character type as plain data: DEFAULTS plus the 16 built-in presets (guard, wanderer, chaser, ranged, coward, ambusher, sniper, healer, swarm, turret, companion, boss, sentry, listener, nightwatch, dummy). resolve(name) merges defaults, the base chain and the preset; define and tune add or change presets (tables merge key by key, lists replace). Read by the Brain component; changed through AI.definePreset and AI.tunePreset.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

aiKit.presets — every character type as plain data. A preset says which brain a character runs (a state machine or a behaviour tree from aiKit.brains), how it moves, what it looks like, how it senses, how long it remembers, and how it fights. Nothing here is code, so a game can tweak a preset or add its own without touching the brains: local AI = require("aiKit.api") AI.definePreset("eagleGuard", { base = "guard", -- start from the guard label = "Eagle-eared guard", senses = { hearing = { sensitivity = 2 } }, -- hears twice as far search = { time = 25 }, -- searches much longer before giving up }) AI.tunePreset("guard", { move = { walk = 1.6 } }) -- change a built-in for the whole game Tables merge key by key with their base (a list such as `phases` is replaced whole). `false` switches a part off (`senses = { sight = false }` is a blind character). Every key is documented in the README's preset reference.
