What it does

eggcar

The banana's ride: a glossy eggplant hot rod with a green calyx, a curled stem on the nose, a sunk leather cockpit with a steering wheel, chrome moon-disc wheels (big at the back), banana-neon hub rings and violet underglow. Built procedurally with game.shared.geo.

E.spawn(parent, name, pos, rot) builds a drivable car: a dynamic Physics chassis (forward is local -Z), four sprung WheelColliders that pose and spin the wheel visuals, and a VehicleController that waits for takeControl(). It returns { entity, id, vc, steer, steerBase, wheels }. E.HIPS is where the driver's hips sit, E.EXIT where they step out, E.wheelPoint(angle) a grip point on the steering wheel rim, and E.setSteer(car, angle) turns the wheel.

Spawned and driven by the BananaPlayer component.

game.player.eggcar — the banana's ride: a glossy eggplant hot rod. Built in the chassis frame VehicleController drives: forward is -Z, +X is the car's right, +Y up, the origin at the chassis box's centre. The eggplant lies along Z with its fat bulb at the back and its green calyx and curled stem on the nose. A leather cockpit is sunk into the top of the bulb with a small steering wheel; big chrome moon-disc wheels at the back, small ones up front, banana-neon rings on the hubs and violet underglow. `E.spawn(parent, name, pos, rot)` builds one: a dynamic Physics chassis, four WheelColliders that pose and spin the wheel visuals, and a VehicleController that waits for `takeControl()`.

# card A soft, glowing particle card for the eggplant hot-rod's effects: exhaust flame, flame core, smoke, brake sparks and road spray. Each particle draws as a round, soft-edged sprite that faces the camera. With `streak` on, it is drawn as a streak stretched along its motion. Its brightness falls off from the centre. Over the particle's life (shader_data lane 0, x from 0 at birth to 1 at death), the card fades in over `fade_in`, fades out with `fade`, and shifts colour from `color_start` to `color_end`. The output is premultiplied by coverage, so the same shader serves additive glow (flame, sparks) and premultiplied smoke. Used by the materials in `game.player.fx.eggcar` (flame, flame_core, smoke, spark, spray).

# eggcar The eggplant hot rod's particle effects in Banana 2077's neon-noir style: magenta afterburner flames, lilac tyre smoke, pale-cyan spray off the wet street, and white-gold sparks where it rams something. Every particle is a soft camera-facing card (`shaders/card`) that fades and shifts colour over its life; flames, spray and sparks are additive streaks stretched along their motion, and the smoke is a premultiplied puff. ## Entries | Entry | Plays | How to play it | |---|---|---| | `exhaust` | Twin exhaust jets: a soft magenta outer flame round a white-gold core on boost, thin violet puffs on throttle. Runs until stopped. | Rooted on the car (`root = car`): its space is the car's, with the tips at x = +-0.35, y = -0.51, z = 2.32 (behind is +Z). | | `wake` | Tyre smoke and spray behind the rear wheels, left in world space so it trails behind. Runs until stopped. | Rooted on a world-space parent (the player mount): the car hands it its rear tyres' contact points every frame through `lx ly lz` / `rx ry rz`. | | `sparks` | One burst of spark streaks that arc, bounce once off the street and burn out orange. Finishes on its own after 50 frames. | `offset` = the contact point in world space. | ## Inputs - `exhaust.boost` (0-1): how hard the afterburner burns; scales the flame and core streaks. - `exhaust.throttle` (0-1): how hard the engine pulls; scales the violet puffs. - `wake.lx`, `wake.ly`, `wake.lz` / `wake.rx`, `wake.ry`, `wake.rz` (m): where the left / right rear tyre meets the road, in the space the play stands in. Plain numbers, so moving them never restarts the particles. - `wake.smoke` (puffs/s): tyre smoke over both wheels; raise it while drifting or wheelspinning. - `wake.spray` (drops/s): spray over both wheels; rises with speed on the wet street. - `sparks.count`: how many sparks the burst throws. - `sparks.force` (0-3): how hard the hit was; scales spark speed and spread. - `sparks.ground` (m): height of the street below the burst's origin, where sparks bounce. ## Materials `flame`, `flame_core`, `spray` and `spark` are additive; `smoke` is premultiplied. Each sets `color_start`/`color_end`, `intensity`, `softness`, `fade`, `fade_in` and `streak` on the shared `card` shader.

# game.shared.geo Procedural geometry kit for Banana 2077. The world has no imported models, so every curved thing in the game (the banana hero and his baton, the fruit and vegetable gang, the gold peel megatowers) is built from these generators. - `G.lathe`, `G.tube`, `G.blob`, `G.grid` build MeshGeometry tables (flat arrays, 0-based CCW indices, normals, uvs). `opts.open` on `G.grid` builds an open sheet instead of a closed ring. - `G.xform`, `G.merge` move and combine them; `G.mesh` uploads a runtime mesh, `G.asset` writes a durable `.mesh` asset. - `G.q*` quaternion helpers ({x,y,z,w}): `qMul`, `qInv`, `qRot`, `qAxis`, `qFromTo`, `qBasis`, `qLook`, `qSlerp`. Called by `game.player.parts`, the enemy builders and the city district.

# exhaust Instances (soft camera-facing cards) for the eggplant car's twin exhausts, in the car's own space: two streams of magenta flame streaks with a white-gold core leaving the tips at x = +-0.35 backwards along +Z, scaled by `boost`, and a thin stream of violet smoke puffs scaled by `throttle`. Three GPU particle solvers (flame 64, core 48, puffs 32 at most); outputs `flames`, `cores` and `puffs`.

# sparks Instances (additive streak cards) for one ram impact: `count` white-gold sparks burst from the origin, thrown up and out by `force`, arcing down under gravity, bouncing once off a plane at `ground` and burning out orange. A one-shot of 50 frames.

# wake Instances (soft cards) in world space behind the eggplant car's rear wheels: lilac tyre-smoke puffs that grow and rise (`smoke` puffs per second) and pale-cyan spray streaks thrown off the wet road that fall back under gravity (`spray` drops per second). It emits at the two points its `lx ly lz` and `rx ry rz` inputs name (the car updates them every frame; plain numbers, so moving them never restarts the sim), so what it already emitted stays behind as the car drives on. Outputs `smoke` and `spray`.
