atmosphere

The air, the rain, the grade and the reflection.

What it does

game.env.atmosphere

The air, the rain, the grade and the reflection.

install(root) arms the post-process chain (rdr_env_bloom and rdr_env_grade, both on the scene layer so the interface the ui slice draws is left ungraded) and the two runs of rain — one over the roof, one falling the length of the lift shaft. apply(look) pushes one palette look into the height fog, the participating medium that lets the neon and the laser draw shafts, the surface wetness, the bloom, the grade and the exposure. release() gives all of it back.

refreshReflection(clock) re-bakes what the wet floors reflect, and does it a handful of times over a night rather than continuously: the bake crosses an HDR target transition the engine is currently fragile across.

The post-process chain. Both effects sit on the `scene` layer, so they grade the room and leave every widget the ui slice draws exactly as authored.

releaseChain( ) → void

refreshReflection(clock: number, force: boolean?) → void

The reflection the wet floors reflect. The sky slot is armed once; the full scene bake is re-taken only when the sky's own clock has moved far enough to change what a reflection would hold, so a run costs a handful of bakes.

# env_grade The NEKO-9 grade. A light-space post-process on the `scene` layer, so it reaches the rendered room and leaves the interface untouched. It split-tones off a tonemapped luminance — the deep parts of the frame go blue-black, the lamps and the neon keep their own colour — lays a depth-keyed haze between the camera and everything far away, and closes with a vignette measured in the frame's own shape so it stays a soft oval on a tall screen and on a wide one alike. The env slice drives its tints from the dawn, so one pass carries the whole night.
