racer_chair

The animation half of a Chairshift GP racing chair.

What it does

racer_chair

The animation half of a Chairshift GP racing chair.

Racer.dress(entity, livery) builds the chair's parts and attaches this component to the chair's root. From then on the chair animates itself off its own motion — the world transform this frame measured against the last — so it does not matter who is driving it. The player's chair and every rival built with Racer.dress behave identically.

Per frame it rolls both drive wheels at the speed the chair is covering, steers and rolls the front wheel, leans the rider into the corner and ducks them forward as the speed builds, lights the burner with banked boost, and throws a scrub glow off the inside rear wheel while the chair is sliding.

Fields

FieldMeaning
wheelRadiusDrive-wheel radius in metres — how far the chair travels per turn of the wheel.
boostOverride0..1 burner intensity. Left at -1 the component reads the chair's banked boost off the shared contract instead.

The parts it animates are found by name in the chair's subtree: spinL, spinR, steer, spinF, rider, burner, scrubL, scrubR. A chair missing them is left alone.
