What it does

kitart — the field kit's ink

The drawing kit the Nine Bells interface is made of. Nothing in here knows about game state; it is colour, type and line.

Provides

  • ART.C — the palette as CSS hex, derived from NB.PALETTE so the interface and the world never drift apart, plus the few interface-only tones (page shadow, groove, glass).
  • ART.F — the type stack. One family, EBGaramond, worked in five registers: display, title, body, hand (italic), smallcaps (letterspaced caps).
  • ART.icon.* — inline SVG glyphs drawn for this game: the beaked mask, the bell, a tincture vial in any colour, the censer, the cane, a lantern lit or dark, a bricked door, the lazaretto gate, a rule with a lozenge in it.
  • ART.label, ART.rule, ART.svg, ART.box, ART.plate, ART.button, ART.meter, ART.entrance — the atoms every screen assembles from.

Reads

game.nb, for the palette only.

A percentage width on a button widget resolves against the screen rather than the box it sits in, so a "100%" button inside a 660-wide card renders 1080 wide and runs off the card's right edge.
