What it does

glyphs

The drawn art of First Light: Henter of the Glew, as SVG markup: the crest the title card carries, the two rail instruments the HUD reads down its left edge, the Henter and the hoggy the how-to card teaches with, the stamp an end card presses, and the small marks a line of text needs beside it.

local G = require("game.ui.glyphs")
G.crest -- the summit cairn against first light
G.lantern(24, 75, Core.QUOTA) -- the phial, filled, notched at the tiers
G.dawnRail(0.4, 0.15) -- the light-line, and where the Henter stands
G.stamp("gold") -- the mark an end card presses

crest, henter, hoggy, mote and rule are constant strings. The three that draw a value — lantern, dawnRail, stamp — build from a template and memoise on the value they draw, so a rail whose reading has not changed hands back the same string and its raster stays cached instead of being redrawn every frame.

The dawn rail is the hill seen edge-on: the summit at the top, the foot at the bottom, the light-line walking down between them, and the Henter's own place marked under it — so the gauge answers the question the clock alone cannot.

Consumed by game.ui.hud and game.ui.cards.

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

argtypedescription
fracnumber

lantern(count: number, cap: number, quota: { bronze: number, silver: number, gold: number }) → string

The lantern rail, filled to `count` out of `cap`, with the three tier notches lit as they are passed.

argtypedescription
countnumberGlew in the lantern.
capnumberThe count the phial is full at.
quota{ bronze: number, silver: number, gold: number }The three tier thresholds, keyed bronze / silver / gold.

dawnRail(t: number?, playerT: number?) → string

The dawn rail: the hill from the summit at the top to the foot at the bottom, the light-line walking down it, and the Henter's own place on it.

argtypedescription
tnumber?0 in deep night, 1 at first light — where the light-line stands.
playerTnumber?0 at the foot, 1 at the summit — where the Henter stands.
⌬ Metadata
descriptionThe SVG art of First Light: Henter of the Glew — the title crest, the lantern and dawn rail instruments, the Henter and hoggy figures, and the end-card stamp. The three value-driven gauges memoise on what they draw so their rasters stay cached.
