The light Saltcrown makes for itself: lamplit dormitory windows, the shrine's
cold blue-white lancets, and the open mouth of a kiln. An emissive surface with
a hot core graded into a cooler color at the edges, a two-frequency flicker
so a lamp is never quite steady, and leaded mullion bars laid over the pane in
world space for the windows that need them. ember: 1 swaps the smooth grade
for a churning coal bed — that is the kiln.
It carries the same water_y as scGranite and scTimber: a window that goes
under the tide stops giving light and fades into sea_color, which is how a
drowned dormitory reads as dead rather than as a lamp burning underwater.
