What it does

ZymeSound

The noise the ferment makes, synthesised on the CPU with audio.encodePcm, so neither clip depends on a generation service being reachable.

clipwhat it iscodec
zyme_bubblesa 5 s bed of wet burble and popping bubbles, played spatially at the ferment's weighted centrepcm
zyme_wellupa 1.1 s rising gulp for the moment the bloom takes a plotopus

The bed is seamless END TO END. Every partial in its drone is an exact multiple of 1/5 Hz and every bubble finishes before the last frame, so the buffer loops on the Audio component's own looping field with nothing at the seam. It is written codec = "pcm" on purpose: an Opus clip loses its first few milliseconds on decode, which a loop hears as a click. The one-shot never loops, so Opus keeps it to nine kilobytes.

A bubble is a sine whose pitch climbs exponentially under an exponential decay — the shape a bubble's resonance makes as it rises and bursts. The drone is twenty-two low partials, 1/f weighted, each breathing under its own slow tremolo.

ensure(which) resolves a clip and bakes it the first time, so a world that arrives without the .soundClip assets mints them on the first load rather than running silent. The generator is fixed, so two bakes of one clip are the same bytes.

rng(seed: number) → void

A fixed generator, so two bakes of the same clip are the same bytes.

periodic(hz: number, seconds: number) → number

Snap a frequency to the nearest whole number of cycles in `seconds`, so a sine built on it starts and ends on the same phase.

bakeBed( ) → void

The looping bed: a wet drone of periodic partials with a slow swell over it, and twenty-six bubbles scattered clear of both ends.

bakeWellup( ) → void

The one-shot: the bloom taking a plot. A rising gulp with a scatter of bubbles riding it.

ensure(which: string) → void

Resolve a clip, baking and writing it the first time. `which` is a key of `M.NAMES`. Returns the AssetRef, or nil and the reason.

# zyme_bubbles The bubbling bed of the ferment: five seconds of wet burble with twenty-six bubbles popping through it, played spatially from wherever the weight of the bloom stands on the hill. Synthesised on the CPU by `game.zyme.ZymeSound` and stored as **pcm** rather than Opus, because it loops: every partial in the drone is an exact multiple of 1/5 Hz and every bubble finishes before the last frame, so the buffer is seamless end to end and the `Audio` component's own `looping` field is all it needs. 16 kHz mono, 80 000 frames.

❒asset
# zyme_wellup The moment the bloom takes a plot: a low gulp bending upward under a scatter of bubbles, 1.1 seconds, played once at that plot and pitched by the plot's own seed so no two plots sound identical. Synthesised on the CPU by `game.zyme.ZymeSound`. A one-shot, so it is stored as Opus and costs nine kilobytes.
