What it does

Sfx

The sounds the Facer and the plate make, computed from raw samples.

Sfx.ensure() bakes anything not already registered and is safe to call on every load. Sfx.report() reads each clip's header back — sample rate, channels, frames, duration — which is how a clip that came out empty or at the wrong channel count is caught before it ships as silence.

clipwhat it is
fl_plate_raisethe bronze ring as the plate comes up: inharmonic partials over a struck envelope, each decaying faster than the one below, with a short breath of strike noise at the front so the hit has an edge before the tone takes over
fl_plate_lowerthe same body, damped and lower: the plate coming down
fl_beam_humthe sustained note of the beam. Every partial is a whole multiple of one over the clip's length, so the waveform arrives back where it started and the loop has no seam
fl_step_soila footfall on dry terrace soil: a noise burst through two lowpasses over a short body thump

The hum is stored uncompressed so its first milliseconds survive intact and the seam stays silent; the one-shots are compressed, which they do not care about.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

zero/source-extract/v2

strict

lcg(seed: number) → void

A small deterministic generator, so a rebake produces the same clip.

fill(buffer, number

ringFill(f0: number, seconds: number, brightness: number, strike: number) → void

A struck bronze disc: a low body tone with inharmonic partials above it, each decaying faster than the one below, plus a short breath of strike noise at the very front so the hit has an edge before the tone takes over.

humFill(buf: buffer, frames: number) → void

Two seconds that loop end to end. Every frequency is a whole multiple of 0.5 Hz, so the last sample runs into the first with no discontinuity.

stepFill(buf: buffer, frames: number) → void

Dry soil: a noise burst run through two one-pole lowpasses so it lands soft, over a short body thump.

ensure( ) → void

Bake every clip that is not registered yet.

What each clip reads back as, for verification: sampleRate, channels, frames and durationMs, straight off the ZAUD header — the read that catches a clip that decoded to no frames, or to the wrong channel count, before it ships as silence.
