kit

Every forged part of the Emberward, and the rest shape of her cloak.

What it does

art/emberward/kit

Every forged part of the Emberward, and the rest shape of her cloak.

Kit.parts() returns the whole figure as a list of { name, bone, material, geom }. Each part is authored in character space — metres, feet at y = 0, facing +Z — against the bind pose of the humanoid rig, and names the bone it is glued to. EmberwardBody does the gluing.

Kit.cloakRest(i, j) gives the cloak's rest position for one node of its grid and Kit.cloakTopology() the indices, uvs and vertex colours; the positions themselves are written every frame by the simulation.

The materials the parts name live beside this file: ew_plate, ew_plate_dark, ew_mail, ew_leather, ew_cloth, ew_cloak, ew_blade, ew_brass, ew_ember, and ew_underlayer for the body beneath the armour.

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

art/emberward/kit — THE EMBERWARD, as a set of forged parts. Every part is authored in character space (metres, feet at y = 0, facing +Z) against the bind pose of the humanoid rig the player wears, and declares the BONE it belongs to. The body component parents each part to its bone and cancels the rig's 0.01 bone scale, so a part written here is glued to that bone and rides the animation rigidly — which is what lamellar plate does anyway. Cloth and mail get their softness from lag and simulation, not from skin weights. The bind-pose landmarks these numbers are measured against, read out of the live rig rather than assumed: Hips 0.876 · Spine_01 0.979 · Spine_02 1.160 · Spine_03 1.337 Neck 1.449 · Head 1.569 · crown ~1.79 Shoulder_L (0.191, 1.390, -0.048) · Elbow_L (0.529, 1.361, -0.053) Hand_L (0.800, 1.361, -0.034) UpperLeg_L (0.099, 0.832) · LowerLeg_L (0.112, 0.432) · Ankle_L (0.114, 0.056) The arms are in an A-pose spread along X, so arm armour is elongated along X and the two-handed blade is authored running out past the right hand — when the idle brings the arm down, that axis becomes "toward the floor" and she is standing with the point down, which is where a greatsword rests.

band(o: any) → void

Shared shapes A curved armour band — the workhorse. An arc of an elliptical ring, given a height, a taper and a thickness. `a0`/`a1` are radians measured from the front (+Z) toward the character's left (+X).

cap(o: any) → void

A dome cap over a joint, in a frame whose +X is "outward from the body". `a` sweeps front→outside→back, `e` is elevation. Used for pauldrons, elbow cops and knee cops.

The quenching blade. Built along +Y and laid down onto the -X axis, so it runs out past the right hand: when the idle drops the arm, the blade hangs point-down at her side.

Every part of the Emberward, in one list.

The cloak's rest position for grid node (i, j), in character space.

cloakTopology( ) → any

Indices, uvs and vertex colours for the cloak grid. Positions are written every frame by the simulation, so only the topology is built once.

# art/emberward/forge The hard-surface geometry kit the Emberward is built from. Every call returns a plain geometry table — `{ positions, normals, uvs, colors, indices }` — which is what `renderer.mesh.create` takes. | | | |---|---| | `box(c, s, opts)` | a bevelled box; the chamfer is what catches the key light | | `prism(profile, y0, y1, opts)` | a swept, tapered section — limbs, blades | | `lathe(profile, segs, opts)` | a revolved profile — studs, rings, flasks | | `shell(opts)` | a curved plate with real thickness and a rim: the armour workhorse | | `tube(path, radius, segs, opts)` | a swept tube — straps, wraps, chain | | `ngon(n, phase)` | a regular profile for `prism` | | `merge` `mergeAll` `mirrorX` `translate` `scale` `rotate` | assembly | | `paint(g, fn)` | repaint every vertex from its position | | `noise` `fbm` | deterministic value noise — the same wear every boot | | `wear(opts)` | the standing wear pass: soot low and behind, rub high and forward, grain everywhere | Vertex colour is load-bearing: the builtin pbr shader multiplies base colour by it, so soot, edge wear and polish are baked into the mesh rather than into a texture. That is what keeps flat plate from reading as flat colour.
