Standalone regular-expression engine: compile(pattern, flags) parses a JavaScript regex into a node tree and returns a Regex whose exec(s, startIndex) runs a backtracking match. Positions and matching are byte-based over UTF-8 strings. It depends only on zerojs.errors for syntax raises and never touches JS values.
