What it does

toonMetal

Cel-shaded metal shader used by the toon metals of metalsMaterials (toonSteel, toonGold, toonCopper).

The sun is cut into quantize_steps flat bands. The darkest band keeps shadow_lift of the sunlight, so shaded faces keep the metal's colour instead of going black. Three hard shapes read as metal: a cel highlight sized by roughness, a horizon reflection stripe (reflection_band) and a darker grazing rim (rim_darken). It scales with the scene's sun and ambient, so lighting looks still change it.

base_color is a linear colour, multiplied by base_color_texture.
