What it does

clock

The shared clock every platform moves on: the host's real-time clock, read on every machine (the other machines ping the host and keep the offset of the fastest answer). Clock.now() is seconds on it, Clock.tick() keeps it in step (platforms call it each frame), Clock.info() reports the offset and round trip. Real time, so a local slow-motion effect never puts one machine's platforms behind.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

platformsKit.clock: the shared clock every platform moves on. The host's wall clock, read on every machine, so a platform is in the same place at the same moment for everyone. Real time, so a local slow-motion (hitstop) never puts one machine's platforms behind another's.

wall( ) → number

amHost( ) → boolean

now( ) → number

Seconds on the shared clock. In edit mode (and on the host) this is this machine's own clock.

info( ) → any

How this machine keeps time with the host: { offset, rtt, synced, isHost, pings, peers }. On the host, `peers` lists every other machine's clock as it last reported it: { [peerId] = { error, rtt, age } }, where `error` is how far that machine's shared time is from the host's, in seconds (positive = ahead). A platform moving at v m/s is seen |error| x v metres apart on the two machines.

_sample(sentAt: number, hostTime: number, receivedAt: number) → void

Feed one answer from the host (sentAt and receivedAt on this machine's wall clock, hostTime on the host's). The answer with the shortest round trip wins; an old best ages out slowly. Used by the network handler and by tests.

tick( ) → void

Keep the clock in step with the host. Cheap; runs at most once per frame.

_report(from: number, clientShared: any, clientRtt: any, receivedAt: number) → void

The host's side of a ping: record how far the sender's shared clock is from the host's. Used by the network handler and by tests.
