What it does

Look

Where the sun stands and what colour the hour is.

local Look = require("game.world.Look")
local frame = Look.at(FL.state.sunHeight, FL.state.phase, FL.state.phaseT)
frame.sun.dir, frame.sun.color, frame.sun.intensity
frame.ambient, frame.sky, frame.fog, frame.daylight, frame.dawn

One call answers the whole atmosphere for one moment of the day, sampled off a handful of stops on the sun's height — the same FL.sunHeightFor the beam's power and the HUD's sun arc read, so the light on the hill and the mechanics never disagree. Dusk is blended in over its own phase, because it is not the dawn run backwards: the light goes rose rather than amber and the fog comes up cold.

Nothing here touches the scene. game.world.Hillside applies what it returns.

daylight is 0 at night and 1 in full day, for anything that fades with the day (the mist, the shrine lantern). dawn peaks exactly as the sun crests the valley, for anything that belongs to that window alone.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

zero/source-extract/v2

Look — where the sun stands and what colour the hour is. One function answers the whole atmosphere for a moment of the day: `Look.at(sunHeight, phase)` returns the sun's direction and colour, the ambient, the sky gradient and the fog, all read off the same `FL.sunHeightFor` every other slice reads. Nothing here touches the scene; `Hillside.component` applies what this returns. local Look = require("game.world.Look") local L = Look.at(FL.state.sunHeight, FL.state.phase) L.sun.color, L.sun.intensity, L.sun.dir, L.ambient, L.sky, L.fog

# FL The shared constants, geometry and contracts of *First Light: Resown*. Every slice of the game requires this and nothing else of each other. - **Hillside geometry** — `COLS x ROWS` plots on terraces that run down the hill along +Z; `plotCenter`, `pathCenter`, `rowZ`, `groundY`, `floorAt`, `rowAtZ`, `colAtX`, `shrineCenter`. - **The day** — `PHASES`, `PHASE_LEN`, `CYCLE`, `DAWNS_TO_WIN`, `sunHeightFor(phase, t)`. - **Shared state** — `FL.state` (screen, phase, plots, seeds, score, shrine threat, sun height); the rules slice writes it, everyone reads it. - **Events** — `FL.events.on / emit / clear`, with the event names every slice agrees on listed in the source. - **The look** — `PALETTE`, and `sz(fraction)` / `isPortrait()` for UI sizes proportional to the live screen. Consumed by every component and module under `/zero/source/game/`.
