What it does

game.hacking.breach

The Breach Protocol puzzle as pure data and rules, with no UI and no engine calls: a code matrix of 1C 55 BD E9 7A FF (5x5 at difficulty 1, 6x6 at 2, 7x7 at 3+), a buffer (5 to 8 slots), and 2 or 3 daemon sequences. Picks alternate row / column starting on the top row; a picked cell empties; a daemon uploads when its codes appear contiguously in the buffer and fails when the buffer no longer has room for it. Daemon 1 (and 2) are slices of a generated valid pick path, so daemon 1 is always solvable within the buffer.

Called by the Hacking component, which draws the puzzle with game.hacking.ui.

  • Breach.new(difficulty, seed?) builds a puzzle.
  • Breach.canPick / pick / lineCells / finished / wouldAdvance play it.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

strict

newRng(seed: number) → Rng

A small seeded generator (Park–Miller), so a breach can be replayed from a seed.

overlap(buf: { string }, seq: { string }) → number

How many codes at the end of the buffer already start the daemon.

path(rng: Rng, size: number, len: number) → void

A random valid pick path of `len` cells: row 0 first, then alternating column / row, never the same cell twice.

lineCells(P: Puzzle) → void

The free cells of the active line, as { r, c } pairs (0-based).

PPuzzle

pick(P: Puzzle, r: number, c: number) → string

Pick (r, c): the code goes into the buffer, the cell empties, the active line turns. Returns the code, or nil when the pick is not allowed.

finished(P: Puzzle) → boolean

Done when the buffer is full, every daemon is settled, or the active line has nothing left to pick.

argtypedescription

wouldAdvance(P: Puzzle, code: string) → void

How many codes a pick of `code` would add to each daemon's progress (for the hover preview): a list of booleans, true where it would advance.
