What it does

jasey.synth

The noises a Commissioner makes, computed rather than fetched.

Everything here is CPU arithmetic over an f32 buffer, so it works headless, on WASM, and without a credit balance. M.bake() writes four .soundClip assets into /source/jasey/sfx and returns each one's audio.info, so a caller sees a real duration and channel count rather than trusting that the call went through. It is idempotent: run it again and the same four clips come back with the same bytes.

clipwhat it is
jasey_rustlethe wig, dry and granular, seamless end to end, 3 s
jasey_wadea soaked coat dragged through a cut, seamless end to end, 2.4 s
jasey_noticethe moment one stops and looks at you — a dry intake, a struck iron note, and the floor dropping out, 1.5 s
jasey_catchthe moment one does not stop — body weight, a wash of noise, and a low cluster closing like a door, 2.2 s

The two looping clips are authored seamless end to end — the tail is folded back over the head with a crossfade — and encoded pcm, and they are looped by the Audio component's own looping field. The two one-shots are Opus, so the files stay small. JaseyDirector plays the loops from a spatial source on each Commissioner and fires the one-shots through playOneShot at the same place, so the sound carries WHERE it came from, which a mix-level cue cannot.

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

jasey.synth — the noises a Commissioner makes, computed rather than fetched. Everything here is CPU arithmetic over an f32 buffer, so it works headless, on WASM, and without a credit balance. `bake()` writes four `.soundClip` assets under /source/jasey/sfx and is idempotent: run it again and the same four clips come back with the same bytes. Two live defects shape the choices here: #8874 loop points are stored and read by nothing, so the two LOOPING clips are authored seamless end to end and looped by the `Audio` component's own `looping` field. #8873 an Opus clip loses its first ~5 ms on decode, so anything that loops is encoded `codec = "pcm"`. The one-shots stay Opus. Owned by the `jasey` slice.

noiseSource(seed: number) → void

A fixed generator: the same four clips every bake, on every machine.

Build `frames + fade` samples with `fn`, then fold the tail back over the head so the clip runs into itself with no step at the seam.

rustle( ) → void

Dry powdered hair moving against itself: bright, sparse, granular. Bandpass shaped noise gated by three slow periodic envelopes whose periods divide the clip, plus a scatter of little crackles.

wade( ) → void

A soaked coat dragged through a cut: low, thick, swelling. Heavy low-passed noise with a slow surge and a broadband sheet under it.

notice( ) → void

A dry intake of powder, a struck iron note high up, and the floor dropping out from under it.

catch( ) → void

A body-weight thud, a collapse of white noise, and a low cluster closing like a door.

put(name: string, buf: buffer, looping: boolean) → any

bake( ) → void

Make (or remake) the four clips. Returns a name → `audio.info` table, so a caller can see a real duration and channel count rather than trusting that the call went through.
