TODO: describe this module.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

Accumulates transformed boxes and tubes into a single runtime mesh.

computeNormals(positions: { number }, indices: { number }) → void

Accumulates transformed boxes and tubes into a single runtime mesh.

argtypedescription
positions{ number }
indices{ number }

new( ) → Builder

Start a new mesh.

quad(b: Builder, a: number, c: number, d: number, e: number) → void

The four corners are given in the order they run round the face as seen from OUTSIDE the solid, and the two triangles are emitted in the winding the renderer treats as front-facing. Emitting them in the order the corners arrive points every face into the solid instead: the near side is culled, the inside of the far side shows through it, and `computeNormals` — which takes its normal from this same winding — lights the result inside out to match.

loft(b: Builder, sections: { { { number } } }, color: { number }) → void

Loft a closed profile along a path: `sections` is a list of rings, each the SAME number of 3D points in the same order round the profile. The skin is emitted between consecutive rings and both ends are capped. A tube can only ever be round. A ramp, a hull, a wing — anything whose cross-section is a shape rather than a circle, or changes along its length — is a loft, and building one out of stacked boxes or tubes shows every step of the stack.

color{ number }`{r, g, b}`.

build(b: Builder) → any

Finish the mesh and hand back a GPU handle, with normals derived from the faces so the result lights as its own shape.

triangleCount(b: Builder) → number

How many triangles the builder holds.
