What it does

Cues

The sound of the staged moments. Four short clips, computed sample by sample in Luau and baked into .soundClip assets under game/stage/clips/ the first time the scene loads.

cuewhat it is
stage_open3.2 s. The valley breathing under the opening — a low swell of 55 Hz and its fifth with air over it, and a bronze partial answering as the camera tops out above the shrine.
stage_beat1.9 s. The plate turned to the sun: a struck-metal transient on inharmonic partials, bright and short.
stage_won4.0 s. A warm chord that swells, lifts a fraction in pitch and lets go.
stage_lost4.0 s. A drone that sinks from 98 Hz to two thirds of it and thins out.

Pure CPU, deterministic, and no network: the moments have a sound whatever else is or is not reachable. All four are mono at 24 kHz, encoded pcm — they are short, and an Opus round trip takes the head off a struck transient — and mixed to sit under the score and the Almanac rather than over them.

local Cues = require("game.stage.Cues")
Cues.ensure() -- bake anything missing; returns kind → identity
Cues.identity("beat") -- "game.stage.clips.stage_beat"

Cues.ensure() skips a clip that already resolves, so it is safe on every load and costs nothing after the first.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

zero/source-extract/v2

Cues — the sound of the staged moments, synthesised. Four short clips, computed from f32 PCM in Luau and baked into `.soundClip` assets under `game/stage/clips/` the first time the scene loads. Nothing here reaches the network or spends a generation credit, so the moments have a sound whatever else is or is not reachable, and a world that arrives without the baked bytes rebuilds them from this file. The palette is the game's: bronze for the plate catching the light, a low valley swell under the opening, a warm chord for the hill resown and a falling drone for the light going out at the shrine. All four are pitched and mixed to sit UNDER the sound slice's beds and voice, not over them. local Cues = require("game.stage.Cues") Cues.ensure() -- bake anything missing Cues.identity("beat") -- "game.stage.clips.stage_beat"

identity(kind: string) → string

The asset identity of one cue, the spelling `Audio.clip` takes.

env(t: number, attack: number, hold: number, release: number) → number

Attack/decay envelope: rises over `attack` seconds, then falls with time constant `release` once `hold` seconds have passed.

bakeOpening( ) → buffer

The four cues. The opening: the valley breathing, and the plate answering as the camera tops out over the shrine.

bakeBeat( ) → buffer

First light: the bronze plate turned to the sun. A struck-metal transient with inharmonic partials, short and bright.

bakeWon( ) → buffer

Won: the hill resown. A warm chord that swells, lifts a fraction in pitch and lets go.

bakeLost( ) → buffer

Lost: the light going out. A drone that sinks and thins.

ensure( ) → void

Baking. Bake every cue that is not already an asset. Returns the identities that resolved, so a caller can report which of them a moment can play. Encoded as `pcm`: the cues are short, and an Opus round trip clips the head off a struck transient.
