What it does

asc_credits — ASCENSION: the title and the credit cards

Controls the words: "RAISING PRESEED" over the cloud sea and the three credit lines that cross-fade beneath it, all written in points of light — the same motes that rise from the valley, gathered into constellations.

Owns

  • CREDITS — the schedule (at, text) for the three cards.
  • FONT — the 5×7 dot-matrix glyph set.
  • textDots — text → world-space dot positions, centred, fixed 6-cell advance.
  • dotMesh — dots → one static mesh of diamonds, four verts each.
  • The title and credit materials, and the emissive ramp that fades each card in and out (FADE, TAIL).

Reads from the orchestrator

duration — the part's length. The last card has no successor to hand off to, so it starts leaving at duration - TAIL. This is the only value that crosses into this aspect.

Boundaries

  • CREDITS, st.credMats and st.credEnts are index-parallel. Adding a card means adding to CREDITS only; the other two are built from it.
  • Cards are shown and hidden by teleporting the entity between the origin and y = -2000, not by toggling visibility.
  • The diamonds are built in the world XY plane with a hard-coded (0,0,1) normal — they are not billboards, so they foreshorten as the last two shots arc across and tilt up.
  • The font has no lowercase and is missing F H J K Q V W X and most digits; an unmapped character contributes no dots and silently leaves a gap.
  • Card timings are hand-typed against a 192 BPM grid (BAR = 1.25 s) they do not land on.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

preseed/asc/asc_credits.module — ASCENSION: the title and the credit cards. The title and credits are written in points of light — the same motes that rise from the valley, gathered into words. This module owns the dot-matrix font, the text-to-world-dots layout, the mesh builder that turns those dots into geometry, the credit schedule, and the emissive ramp that fades each card in and out. The only thing crossing in from the orchestrator is the part's `duration`, which the last credit needs to know when to fade out.

textDots(str: ?, cx: ?, cy: ?, cz: ?, scale: ?) → void

World-space dot positions for a line of text, centered on `cx`, at `scale` world units per font cell.
