What it does

engine.editor.system_tools.tabs.debug

System Tools → Debug tab: the live console for the Luau debugger.

Panels

  • Header — current pause status (path:line + reason), step controls (Continue F5 / Step Over F10 / Step Into F11 / Step Out Shift+F11), and a Pause-on-error toggle.
  • Stack — captured stack frames (top first), click a frame to focus its locals.
  • Locals — name → value for the focused frame, with upvalues underneath.
  • Watches — user-registered expressions re-evaluated on every render against the paused frame's environment.
  • Breakpoints — full breakpoint list with hit counts, modifier badges (condition / log / hitCount), inline enable / remove, and an add form.

Wiring

The tab follows the standard system_tools contract: { label, refresh, build, onCallback }. Polls at 4 Hz when visible; zero cost when hidden.

Data source: the debugger.* Luau namespace. See docs/specs/debugger.md for the full API.
