venue_glow
The additive glow behind Sengoku Trance's light show — every laser beam, light shaft, strobe wash and haze card in the venue is a mesh wearing a material built on this shader.
It is self-shading and blends additively, so it adds light to the frame and never subtracts any: a beam can wash a note out but it cannot hide one, which is the property the note highway is authored against.
The surface is read as a beam lying along its own +Y. uv.x runs across
the width and drives a soft skirt plus a hot core; uv.y runs along the
length and fades the beam in over head and out over tail. view_fade
thins a beam as it swings edge-on to the camera.
