What it does

bsc_ui

Every screen in BIG STEAL CAR: ANDREAS-SAN.

The title, with the logo slammed over the lane at dusk. How to play, laid out as an izakaya menu strip on a wooden board under a noren. The HUD: an objective on a paper strip, a countdown, five paper lanterns hanging in the corner that fill as the koban take an interest, a survey plan of Hozumi-dori 3-chome drawn in ink, a speedo when you are in a car, and the radio station when it changes. Mission titles that slam onto the screen. A boxy feature phone for the jobs list. Pause, photo mode, and the two end cards.

Everything a character says is printed as well as spoken, so a line survives a muted player and a noisy room.

The screen is 1080 x 1440 — taller than it is wide — and the whole layout is built for it: nothing spans the top as a bar, nothing sits in a row across the bottom, and the middle of the frame is left to the street.

The art is in art/ui/bsc_ui_art; the type is Anton, Archivo Black, EB Garamond and Berkeley Mono.

entrance(dur: number, delay: number, from: any) → any

An entrance holds its FIRST keyframe until the delay elapses (fill = "both"), and edit mode does not advance animation time — so a keyframe at opacity 0 makes the node permanently invisible whenever the engine is not playing. Everything here animates transform, and never fades from nothing.

# bsc_ui_art The drawn half of BIG STEAL CAR's interface. Every mark in the game's screens that is not a letterform lives here: the paper lanterns of the wanted meter, the vermilion 車 seal, Inaho Inari's torii, cherry blossom, the Hoshino Ryusei in profile, a noren, the lane's family crest, a wet sumi brush stroke, the wave-scale ground under the izakaya boards — and the hand-inked survey plan of Hozumi-dori 3-chome that the minimap draws from `BSC.BLOCK`. It is painted with the UI `canvas` command list, so every mark is vector work that stays crisp at any size. Nothing here touches the engine: each function appends shapes to a table and returns, which is why several marks compose onto one surface — the wanted meter is five lanterns on a single canvas, and the minimap is a whole neighbourhood on another. Required as `require("art.ui.bsc_ui_art")`.
