TODO: describe this module.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

Fills the snow's landform buffer with a mountain, on the GPU.

rememberKey(key: string) → void

argtypedescription
keystring

params(opts: ?) → Preset

The preset with `opts` applied over it.

argtypedescription
opts?

generate(buffer: any, grid: number, extent: number, opts: ?) → void

Generate the landform into `buffer`, a GPU buffer handle of `grid * grid` floats covering `extent` metres. `opts` overrides any field of the preset.

argtypedescription
bufferany
gridnumber
extentnumber
opts?

pisteY(z: number, opts: ?) → number

Height of the piste's centreline at a z, in metres. The CPU mirror of the corridor the generator writes: the constant grade plus the two rolls, which is the whole of the corridor's shape at x = 0. Camera keyframes and anything authored before the landform has been read back come from here.

argtypedescription
znumber
opts?

pisteAt(x: number, z: number, opts: ?) → number

The piste's surface at an x, z inside the corridor: the centreline plus the dish that lifts its edges. Exact — this is what the generator writes, not an approximation of it — so a skier placed from here is on the snow without waiting for the landform to be read back.

argtypedescription
xnumber
znumber
opts?

fallDirection(opts: ?) → number

Which way is downhill along Z, +1 when the fall line runs toward +Z.

argtypedescription
opts?

release( ) → void

Drop the parameter buffers the generates made. The landform buffers themselves belong to whoever asked for them.

❒asset
# snow_land Fills a height buffer with the mountain the ski run descends. The shape is composed, not sampled. A massif of overlapping summit bells carries the mass, a general tilt drops the ground away toward the valley, ridged noise stands aretes up wherever the massif is high, and fine FBM roughens the whole surface. The piste is part of the same function: a corridor down the fall line takes the smooth field alone, level across its width and rolling gently along it, blended back into the mountain over a margin. Dispatch it 2D over the grid, `ceil(grid / 8)` groups on each axis. ## Buffers | binding | name | role | |---------|------|------| | 0 | `land` | the height buffer written, row-major, `grid * grid` floats | | 1 | `ctrl` | the parameters below | ## `ctrl` | slot | meaning | |------|---------| | 0 | grid size | | 1 | extent in metres, centred on the origin | | 2 | seed | | 3 | valley floor height | | 4 | massif height | | 5 | ridge amplitude | | 6 | detail amplitude | | 7 | tilt: the drop across the extent | | 8 | piste half width | | 9 | piste blend margin | | 10 | piste roll amplitude | | 11 | piste roll length | | 12 | piste dish: the rise at the corridor edge |
