What it does

aiKit.memory

What a character remembers about where others were: spots (seen, glimpsed, told by an ally, heard), each with a time and a confidence that fades over forget / forgetSound seconds. best() picks the spot most worth acting on, visible() the nearest one seen this tick. Senses write it; brains read it, so characters only act on where someone was. Available to games as AI.memory.

Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

aiKit.memory — what a character remembers about where others were. A memory holds spots, not people: "I saw someone HERE, 3 seconds ago" or "I heard a noise THERE". Each spot fades: its confidence falls from 1 to 0 over `forget` seconds (sight) or `forgetSound` seconds (sound), and then it is gone. A brain only ever acts on these spots, never on where a player really is, so characters cannot cheat: lose them and they go to where you WERE. local Memory = require("aiKit.memory") local m = Memory.new({ forget = 10, forgetSound = 7 }) m:saw("player:7", { x = 1, y = 0, z = 4 }, now) -- seen this tick m:heard("noise:12", { x = 3, y = 0, z = 2 }, now, { kind = "bottle", subject = nil }) local best = m:best(now) -- the spot most worth acting on m:forgetAll()
