Interface

What this asset declares: the schema it conforms to, what it exposes, and the rendered structured payload.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

place(distance: number?, offset: number?) → any

Put this peer's own car at a point on the circuit and report where it ended up. Only the car this peer drives can be placed: a car belongs to the peer that owns it, and moving someone else's locally proves nothing about replication -- the other peer would never hear it. Used to take both cars off their grid slots so that what each peer draws of the other is a position neither started at. start line. Defaults to 120.

argtypedescription
distancenumber? How far along the circuit to place the car, in metres from the
offsetnumber?Sideways offset from the centre line. Defaults to 0.

# shared One-paragraph description of what this module provides and who consumes it. ## Exports - `M.exampleFn(arg) -> result` — what it does and when to call it. - `M.exampleValue: type` — what value it carries. ## Usage Replace `<identity>` with the string `asset.create` returned — this module's source path with `/` written as `.` and each segment's type suffix dropped, the way a module at `/source/lib/thing.module` is `lib.thing` and one at `/source/kit.package/thing.module` is `kit.thing`. ```luau local M = require("<identity>") M.exampleFn("foo") ``` ## Notes - Anything callers need to know about THIS module: required runtime ordering, state ownership, side effects.

# AFTERCURRENT multiplayer test bench Answers the questions a screenshot cannot: which race a peer is actually in, which cars it holds and who owns them, and whether anything a remote peer sends is reaching this engine at all. Run the same tool on each peer and compare the records side by side. 1. `tools.use("rainlineTest","snapshot")` — this peer's honest state: its id, every Race component in the scene with its clock and roster, and every car with its owner, whether this peer drives it, and whether it is drawn. 2. `tools.use("rainlineTest","remoteActivity",6)` — watch every entity this peer does NOT own for six seconds and report which of them changed. Nothing changing means replication is not arriving, which is a different fault from a car that is present but parked. 3. `tools.use("rainlineTest","press","title_multiplayer")` — press a real menu button by its callback id, so a test walks the path a player walks instead of setting the flags the menu would have set. Button ids: `title_drive`, `title_multiplayer`, `rainline_enter`, `lobby_vote_1`..`lobby_vote_5`, `lobby_leave`, `rainline_restart`.
