# soot_brick
The terrace walls of Lamplighter's Round. Stretcher-bond stock brick with its
courses, mortar joints, stone plinth, window openings, dressings and the odd
lit room all cut procedurally from world-space coordinates rather than
modelled, so one material dresses every wall of every house and the window
lattice runs continuously across a terrace built on the same 8 m grid. The
horizontal axis is picked from the face normal, so the same shader is correct
on a wall facing either street. The soot gradient darkens the brick towards the
eaves until there is almost nothing left up there for the fog to eat.
