Alpine Span

Bridge a 1950s Alpine gorge from road, wood, steel, cable and spring pieces on a budget, press GO, and send the yellow post bus across. Members glow blue when stretched and red when crushed, bend, and snap when overloaded; the first piece to break stays marked. Five gorges, 1-3 stars by cost.

Build a bridge across five Alpine gorges, then trust it with a busload of passengers.

  • Build: drag pieces between pin joints on a 1 m grid, starting from the anchors on each cliff. Five materials: road (the bus drives on it), cheap pine, strong riveted steel, cables that only pull, and springs that give.
  • Budget: every piece costs money per metre. GO is refused over budget; stars come from how little you spent (3 stars at 60% of the budget or less).
  • Test: press GO and the 1950s post bus drives across. Members glow blue when stretched and red when crushed, bend under load and snap when overloaded. The first piece to break stays marked so you know what to fix.
  • Progress: clearing a gorge unlocks the next; your best stars and cost are saved.

Controls: left-drag from a joint to place, right-click to remove, 1-5 to pick a material, Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y to undo / redo, WASD or middle-drag to pan, wheel to zoom.

Built on the published trussPhysics, gridBuilder, stressView, trussVehicles, levelFlow and canyonMaker packages.
