Press play and watch. Nothing to click, nothing to steer: a camera runs a 4 minute 35 second film through twelve worlds, and every one of them is built from scratch the moment the clock arrives and torn down again when it leaves.
There are no imported scene meshes. The grass, the creature, the crowd of particles, the cave, the building that falls down, the lightning, the water and the type are all generated in the engine while you watch, and the score under them was composed, synthesised and analysed in the same world.
The twelve parts
- COLD START (0:00) The title sequence. A slit of light, three counts over magenta, ORIGOZERO assembling letter by letter and thrown off frame, a starburst card, white strikes covering every cut.
- FRESH CUT (0:25) Bright midday on an estate lawn. Thirty thousand swaying blades, and a ride on mower carving the OrigoZero mark into the grass row by row while you watch it happen.
- SIMULATION (0:47) Forty five thousand GPU particles under a compute shader, morphing between curl noise attractor shapes on the phrase grid: a torus, a double helix, a cloud.
- REVOLUTION (1:12) Eternal sunset vaporwave. A banded pixel sun, a chrome idol, a cyan grid running to the horizon and a VHS stack that jitters on the snare.
- CRAWLER (1:35) A ferrofluid creature hauls itself through a crystal cave on ten continuous tentacles, its whole body a GPU scattered mesh rewritten every frame.
- COLLAPSE (1:57) Dusk over a demolition site. A crawler crane swings a forged ball into a five storey building of I beams, slabs, brick and pre split glass, and the score's impact cues decide where it comes apart.
- CLOUDSURF (2:20) Dawn over an endless cloud sea. An ink silhouette rider carves a healing wake through it, threading rings and outrunning storm cells that flash from the inside before they strike.
- SNOWLINE (2:45) An alpine run. A skier carves, jumps and rail slides down a terrain clipmap while compute passes cut the trail into the snow behind him.
- FONTAINE (3:05) A GPU fluid show on a 170 metre lake in a dusk parterre garden: thirty two thousand particles, forty articulated nozzles, and a choreography that sweeps the length of the water.
- DISCHARGE (3:28) Night in a high voltage test hall. Sixteen arcs share one mesh whose vertices are rewritten every frame, striking twin rods on the score's stabs while moonlight pools through the high windows.
- ASCENSION (3:51) The finale. Motes of light rise out of the dark as the camera climbs, and the credits roll.
- END CARD (4:26) One slow push in on the type.
The score
192 BPM drum and bass, 4/4, composed in the world and synthesised offline by an in world additive and FM synthesiser, then analysed with a short time Fourier transform. The baked band energies, onset flux and a named cue track drive lights, materials and in scene action in every part. Every part boundary lands on an even barline, so the set's drops are the film's cuts.
Watching it
Open the world and press play. The film runs from the top, deterministically, to the same 4:35 every time.
