Drag Race

Quarter-mile drag racing vs an AI career ladder — stage at the tree, launch on green, bang gears to the stripe. Red-light fouls, wheelspin, blown engines, garage unlocks, and persistent records.

Drag Race

Third-person quarter-mile (402 m) drag racing. You against a career ladder of six AI drivers on a floodlit strip — first across the stripe wins, timeslip and all.

How a run works

  1. ENTER to stage. The car creeps to the beam; the tree lights top-down.
  2. Rev with SPACE while staged — the tach shows your launch band in green.
  3. When the ambers cascade, release — throttle during the ambers is a red light (instant DQ).
  4. Launch on GREEN: press and hold SPACE. In the band you hook; too low bogs, too high smokes the tires.
  5. Shift near redline with UP (or RIGHT-SHIFT), DOWN to downshift. Hold a gear past the limiter and the engine takes damage — keep banging it and it lets go.
  6. Timeslip at the stripe: reaction, 60 ft, 1/8-mile, ET, trap speed.

Modes

  • Quick Race — beat the current rung to advance the career and earn the purse.
  • Bracket — best of three, double purse.
  • Time Attack — solo, chase your personal best.

Progression

Wins pay credits. The Garage sells three machines — Roadrunner 442 (street muscle), Hellfire FC (funny car), Venom TF (top fuel rail) — plus paint. Best ETs per car live in Records. The ladder tops out with THE MANTIS, who runs a 7.3.

Settings

Master/SFX/music volume, sound captions, a colorblind-friendly tree, shift assist, and steer assist.

Built entirely with in-world Luau components: bespoke longitudinal physics (powerband, clutch slip, traction, weight transfer), a real sportsman tree state machine, synthesized engine/tire/tree audio, and zui menus.
