Flying Squirrel
Nocturnal gliding survival: climb the trunks, launch, ride your patagium tree to tree, forage nuts and stock your den before the first snow — while owls, foxes, snakes and the daytime hawk hunt you.
# Flying Squirrel You are a northern flying squirrel. Each night runs dusk to dawn: climb a trunk, **launch (SPACE)**, glide tree to tree — nose-down for speed, **SHIFT to flare** for a soft landing — gather acorns, seeds and mushrooms, and carry them home to the den hollow. Store the winter quota before the first snow. ## Controls - **WASD** — run / climb (W climbs up a trunk, A/D circle it) - **Mouse** — third-person camera; steering while gliding follows the camera - **SPACE** — hop / launch from a trunk or branch / deploy mid-fall - **SHIFT** — flare (brake) while gliding; land gently or pay in energy - **E** — pick up food · store food at the den · sleep through the day - **F** — eat a carried morsel - **ESC** — pause ## Survive - **Energy** drains as you climb and glide — collapse at zero. Food restores it. - **Owls** perch at night: their hoots quicken as they lock on. Break line-of-sight — dive through a canopy. - **Foxes** patrol the floor. Don't linger on the ground. - **Snakes** coil near low trunks. Watch the low limbs. - **The hawk** rules the day. Be denned at dawn, or hide under cover until dusk. Deposits persist between sessions; the gallery tracks the species you've seen and your records — longest glide, best night's haul, nights survived. Custom mode tunes predator density, day length, and infinite energy.
