Loadout: guns, bows, blades and spells for any Zero game
Give every player in your game a weapon with one component, Weapon { def = "rifle" }. Change "rifle" to "bow", "sword" or "fireball" and that's the whole swap.
What's inside the weaponsKit package
- 27 weapons in four looks:
- Realistic: pistol, SMG, assault rifle, shotgun, sniper, rocket launcher, frag grenade, flamethrower, dagger, fists.
- Sci-fi: laser beam, plasma pistol, railgun, pulse rifle.
- Fantasy: longbow (hold to draw), crossbow, thrown spear, longsword with a 3-hit combo, war hammer, spear, fireball, chain lightning, ice shard.
- Cartoon toy: toy blaster, squeaky hammer, water balloon, foam sword.
- Every weapon feels like itself: its own model in the hand, muzzle flash or casting effect, tracer or projectile, impact, marks left on walls (bullet holes, scorch, slashes, frost, paint, arrows and spears that stick), sound, crosshair and recoil.
- One field restyles any weapon into another look family, so your whole game stays visually consistent.
- Multiplayer done right: your own shots show instantly, the host decides every hit and refuses impossible ones (through walls, out of range, faster than the gun fires), and everyone sees the shots, marks and health.
- First-person viewmodel for you, and the weapon in your character's hand for everyone else.
- Keyboard and mouse, gamepad and touch. On a phone, the Fire, Reload, Aim and Swap buttons sit beside the movement controls.
- Weapons are data: add your own or tweak any built-in with
define/tweak, and list them all, tagged, withstyles().
Built on the earlier kits: SecondWind (health and death), markersKit (crosshairs, hit markers, damage numbers), juiceKit (recoil, hitstop, shake, impacts), soundstage (sound) and controlsKit (controls). Installing weaponsKit brings all of them.
Try it: press Play to walk the firing range. Every weapon has its own station; step on a pad to take it, Q / X to cycle, and the coloured pads switch look families. Shoot the training dummies and the target walls.
