Warp and Weft: Fabrics and Soft Goods
25 fabrics for any Zero world, at real size and ready to swap by name. Woven cloth, pile and knits, leathers, rope and quilting, and four cartoon looks. They plug straight into Swatchbook, the shared material library, so they show up in its list, picker and swatch gallery the moment you install. No setup code.

Made to read as the real thing
- Real weave structures at real size: plain, twill and satin weaves with true yarn pitch, knit stitches, tufts and loops, leather grain, and rope lay. One unit is one metre.
- The engine's own lighting: velvet, satin, silk and suede glow at grazing angles. Satin and silk stretch their highlight across the threads, and fur carries paired strand highlights.
- Built for cloth that moves: every fabric is two-sided. The included
FabricClothkeeps a fabric at real size on a physically draped sheet or a soft cushion when a player swaps it. - Checked with Swatchbook's own tools: seamless when tiled 4 × 4, no shimmer or moiré at 30 m, and inside the web build's texture limits. Each fabric was made against a reference picture, which ships with it.
- 23.9 MB of texture for all 25 (32.3 MB with the reference pictures).
Multiplayer
Apply a fabric with the picker or Materials.apply(object, "velvet"), and every player in the world sees it, including players who join later. The draped sheet and cushions in this world are shared soft bodies.
Install
Search ZeroMind for fabricsMaterials and install it. Swatchbook comes with it. Then:
local Materials = require("~materialLibraryKit.Materials")
Materials.apply(myObject, "denimIndigo")
In this world
You arrive in Swatchbook's gallery under its Studio look. All 25 fabrics stand on one ring, each on a floor tile, wall, cube, sphere, shader ball and cylinder, with its reference picture framed beside it. In the middle, a linen sheet drapes over a table and three cushions sit on a bench. Click any of them and pick a fabric.
Known limit: the gallery is heavy. In the desktop editor it runs at about 10 fps while the full ring of 25 stands, a cost that comes from Swatchbook's gallery itself; the fabrics cost nothing per frame. It has not yet been measured in a browser (OrigoZero/zero#20946). The package README has the numbers and the full list of limits.
