pixelTemplate (asset type)
A saved, reusable pixel-art sheet. A <name>.pixelTemplate/ folder asset
carries a JSON payload template.pixbin (width, height, pixelSize, plane,
palette, the flat pixel array, and — for animated sheets — every frame) plus
the .metadata the structural spec requires.
Authoring paths: PixelCanvas:saveAsTemplate(name) /
Pixel.saveAsTemplate(...). Instantiation: Pixel.fromTemplate(name, opts)
copies (bakes) the payload into a fresh canvas — there is no live link, so
editing an instance never touches the template.
In the Inspector
Selecting a pixel template opens its Sheet section, decoded from template.pixbin once per version of the file: the sheet's size, pixel size and plane, how many frames it holds and, when it animates, its frame rate and whether it loops, followed by a swatch per palette entry. A template with no saved sheet says so.
