generator_inspector
The Generator component's card on an entity. It replaces the card's generic
settings section with one built from the bound graph: the graph it runs, as
an asset picker, and which of its outputs it realizes; then groups — Inputs,
one row per input the graph declares in the control its type takes, each able
to take an expression over the graph's own time; Timeline, playOn, speed
and ending, then the transport, scrubber, range, frame rate, looping and wall
time; Runs per frame, for a graph of the call form, whether its device part
moves on the device and the nodes that run on the CPU every frame, each with
what to change; Cook, what is cooking, what cooking has cost and the frame
budget (cookBudgetMs), with Cancel while a cook runs — and the Flatten action,
which calls apply(). The
component's inspector.luau returns this module, so the editor's inspector
framework (edui.inspector.componentSections) shows it wherever the component
is on an entity. While the clock runs, or the range is still cooking, the card
asks the panel to follow it.
Editing an input row writes the value into the component's params, which
regenerates the live output in place. A write the input's type cannot hold is
refused, and the row says why.
buildFieldSpecs(graph, params) is the pure row mapping: one spec per declared
graph input, sorted by name, carrying its kind, its current value (the param
override when set, else the declared default), the declared default, its declared range, the asset
kind a reference input picks from, and whether the value changes over time.
