core.join (procNode)

The numbers a join of several geometries needs: where each part starts in every class, the description words the concat kernel reads for one attribute, and each class's counts and starts as lists. core.concat and core.realize call it.

Built from op.transfer.readback of each part's counts and the Luau node over join.module, which sits in this node's folder.

Inputs

  • what (one of layout, words, sources). Default "layout". Which numbers are answered.
  • geometries (List<Geometry>, optional). For "layout": the geometries joined, in order.
  • layout (Record, optional). For "words" and "sources": what "layout" answered.
  • class (one of point, vertex, primitive). Default "point". For "words": the class of the attribute.
  • name (String). Default "". For "words": the attribute's name.

Outputs

  • value: for "layout" the Record starts, counts, parts and a total per class; for "words" the List of description words; for "sources" the Record of per-class counts and starts lists.

Example

local grid = g.mesh.grid({ size = { x = 2, z = 2 }, cells = { x = 2, z = 2 } })
local points = g.points.grid({ countX = 4, countZ = 1, spacing = 1 })
local layout = g.core.join({ what = "layout", geometries = { grid, points } })

layout.starts.point holds 0 and 9, layout.counts.point 9 and 4, and layout.pointTotal is 13.
