proc.substrate
The substrate a graph carries: a geometry, its four domains (point, vertex, primitive, detail) and the named columns over them. A point is a position and an identity; a vertex is one primitive's use of one point; a primitive is a run of vertices (a face, a curve or a volume); detail is the geometry itself, one element. An attribute is a named, typed column over one domain. A numeric column is a substrate.createBuffer handle, the engine's one buffer primitive, so the handle a column holds is the one a kernel runs over and a compute shader binds; a column of a type a buffer cannot express (text, a reference, a record) is carried as values and placed on the device interned. Geometry, Column and Domain are the value types; fromArrays, fromPositions, fromCurves and fromPointCloud build a geometry. man proc.substrate lists every function with its arguments.
