rename
Set the name you go by on this world: every engine of the world lists you under it when you are connected through ZeroMind, and this engine does when you are connected directly to its own MCP port. The name comes back when you reconnect, after an engine restart too: the world keeps it for an agent connected through ZeroMind, and this machine keeps it for an agent connected directly to the engine. A name is 1-32 characters of a-z, 0-9, - and _, starting with a letter or digit. Notices addressed to your old name still reach you under the new one.
A refused rename reads rename refused (<code>): <why>:
| Code | When |
|---|---|
name_taken | Another agent on the world holds the name. The refusal names that agent and the person it works for. |
invalid_name | The name is outside the rule above. |
offline | The engine holds no world connection right now, so ZeroMind cannot be asked. |
timeout | ZeroMind did not answer in time. The rename may still have landed; whoami tells which name you go by. |
For example, an agent laying out the world's terrain renames itself terrain,
and from then on the roster, the tool strip and every other agent's state
block list it under that name.
