animation toolbox
Test-play animation clips on skinned bodies. animation.play is the quick way
to see a .animation clip on a character without authoring a component: it
resolves the clip and the entity, finds the SkinnedModel to drive, plays the
clip through the canonical AnimGraph, and tears everything down when the window
ends.
animation.play("A_Walk_F_Masc", "hero") -- play once, auto-cleanup
animation.play("Idle", "hero", { offset = "5s" }) -- wait 5s, then play
animation.play("Wave", "hero", { loop = true, duration = 8 }) -- loop for 8s
It plays while the world runs (play mode), the same as any component-driven
animation. Durable playback belongs on a ClipPlayer component; this tool is for
throwaway testing and leaves no component behind.
On a body that already animates (a ClipPlayer, the character controller) the clip overrides for the window and the body's own animation resumes untouched afterwards — the tool reuses the running graph and restores its output on cleanup.
