Report one sub-client: yours, or the one an id names.

Without an id the answer is your own sub-client. A caller with no sub-client yet gets state = "absent" and a reason: its next call that runs in a client takes one. The row names the sub-client's state, branch, scene, start, whose it is and who called it lately.
