clear

Drops the buffered log lines, so a following search sees only what happened after the clear. The lifetime per-level counts summary reports are preserved, so whether there were ever any errors stays answerable.

Rarely the right move. summary reports a cursor which, handed back to search as since, isolates what an action logged without discarding lines anybody else may want.

Returns cleared and the cursor to read from next.
