Builtin Library
README.md
zeromind.updates
List the libraries and installed assets that have an update available. Read-only.
- A library is one unit. It is listed when its marker's requested ref (default
main) now resolves to a newer commit than the one the world pins. Entry:{ kind = "library", library, from, to, apply }. @builtinis compared with the version of it this engine runs: it is listed when the world's pin is older, withtonaming the engine's version andbehind_engine = true. A world pinned to an older@builtinis hidden from players, and a package published from it carries copies of engine parts into every world that installs it;zeromind.update("@builtin")moves the pin to the engine's version.- An installed asset is checked by its root only: the entry names the asset you installed, the version you hold and the version its origin holds now. Entry:
{ kind = "asset", root_path, root_guid, display_name, from, to, apply }. A dependency of an install is never listed on its own, and a root whose dependency moved while the root did not is not listed. - Assets installed from a library's world are part of that library's entry.
- A pulled row that carries no install-root mark (content forked from another world, or an install whose root was never marked) is not listed.
apply names the call that applies the entry, zeromind.update("<unit>"), and the one that shows what it changes first, zeromind.reviewUpdate("<unit>"). zeromind.update() with no argument applies every entry.
skipped lists the units whose origin could not be reached, each with a reason; an unreachable origin never fails the call. An empty updates means everything is up to date.
Opening a world in an editor runs the same check, and runs it again every half hour while the world stays open. A @builtin older than the engine's raises a notice asking the agents in the world to upgrade it; the other entries raise one notice asking them to ask the user before updating. Each finding (a unit, the version it holds and the version it is behind) is raised once for the world. The editor's ZeroMind panel lists them under Updates, beside what the world installed.
