Match Flow Kit 1.1.0
The bit every party game, arena shooter, racer or fighting game needs and nobody wants to write again: getting players into a lobby, a countdown to start, the round with a timer, a results screen, and a short break before the next round. The package is MatchFlow (also known as matchFlowKit, the name it was first asked for; it keeps the name MatchFlow because other kits install it by that name).
Play it
- Style gallery (opens first): every countdown beside a results screen, a live king-of-the-hill card with each hill look labelled under its hill, and the seven in-round HUD layouts, all readable from where you spawn. Click a countdown to hear it; Walk around puts you next to a live hill to step into.
- Orb Rush (
scenes.arena, the Play Orb Rush button): join with a friend and play a 30-second timed round. Grab the most glowing orbs, then see the podium.
Use it in your game
Install the MatchFlow package from this world, then add two lines at the end of content() in your scene's build.luau:
local MatchFlow = require("MatchFlow.api")
MatchFlow { format = "timed", seconds = 30, minPlayers = 1 }
- Formats: timed, firstToScore, bestOf, lastStanding, kingOfTheHill, race, waves, turnBased, switched with one field. The first names (scoreLimit, bestOfRounds, lastOneStanding, raceToFinish, surviveWaves) work too.
- King of the hill: drop a
Hillzone in a level and hold time counts by itself. Five looks: glowing ring, flag on a platform, sci-fi pad, rune circle, plain outline. It can move between spots during a round. - HUD layouts: top timer with scoreboard, corner timer, TV score bug, versus bar, timer strip, ranked sidebar, hold meter, each in minimal, sci-fi and cartoon and on a phone.
- Countdowns: bold, trafficLight, pixel, hologram, cartoon, minimal, fantasy, flipClock, neon, broadcast, each with its own 3-2-1-GO sounds.
- Results: podium, table, banner, recap.
- Tags: every style is in
MatchFlow.catalog, tagged retro, sci-fi, sports, fantasy, cartoon, minimal, party, arena, racing and more. - Multiplayer: one machine is in charge and everyone sees the same moment. If the host quits mid-round, another player takes over with the same clock and scores.
The package README has every field, event and method, the full multiplayer behaviour, and the known limits.
