field.walk_index
The number of the step a walker is taking, counted from 0, as a Float: what a walk step reads to change with how far the walk has gone. It is a leaf of a walk step, like field.walk_state; fieldc.walkSpec writes the step as the functions the walk kernel calls. Read where no walk step is written, the field refuses to compile and says so.
Inputs
None.
Outputs
field: a Float field.
Example
local state = g.field.walk_state({ count = 2 })
local k = g.field.walk_index()
local step = state + k * 0.5
step is the walk step of a two-float state; fieldc.walkSpec(step, { width = 2, count = 2 }) writes it as the WALK_STEP and WALK_PRELUDE the walk kernel is specialized with.
