ovation.house — the Odeon Marisol, on the film clock. One component, on one entity parented to the scene's `House` anchor. It builds the room in `awake()` and then does the only thing Slice A does every frame: MOVES the cloth and the seats. What moves, and when: the draught never stops. The dust-sheet hems over the front rows lift and settle, the masking legs and the gathered curtain sway a fraction of a degree, all of it out of phase with itself so no two pieces breathe together. the tip-ups, shot 2 single seats in rows A and B rock closed under the lens as it dollies along the front row. the fold, shots 7-11 the house folds its seats down in a wave that starts at the back wall and runs forward to row A, so the room is already making room for them before the figures arrive. the curtain, shot 13 the two halves travel in and meet, and a dust sheet comes down out of the flies over the worklight. Everything integrates with `Film.DT`, never with a real frame delta, and the reset hook puts every one of them back, so the second playthrough is the first.

foldFront(t: number) → number

The fold front, in world z, at film time t: the back wall at t0, row A at t1.

build( ) → void

relink( ) → boolean

Pick the handles back up off the live world after a hot reload, so editing a timing constant costs a frame instead of rebuilding fourteen hundred seats. Returns false when the room is not standing and a real build is needed.

reset( ) → void

awake( ) → void

state( ) → void

What the room is doing right now: how many row groups have folded their seats down, and how far the curtain has travelled in.

examples

entity.find("HouseSlice").component.get("house"):state()

rebuildNow( ) → void

Rebuild the whole room from its modules — the authoring loop after a geometry edit.

examples

entity.find("HouseRoot").component.get("ovation.house"):rebuildNow()

# ovation.film The shared spine of **Standing Ovation** — a 90-second cinematic demo set in a rotting 1,412-seat theatre. Two things live here and nothing else. ## The constants The Odeon Marisol's geometry (`Film.GEO`, `Film.rakeY`, `Film.stallSeat`, `Film.balconySeat`), its palette (`Film.PALETTE`), its four light sources (`Film.LIGHTS`), its acts (`Film.ACTS`) and its shot list (`Film.SHOTS`). Every slice of the demo reads its colours and dimensions from here rather than restating them, because two slices disagreeing about where row A stands breaks the film in a way no screenshot explains. ## The film clock One deterministic timeline the whole demo runs on. It advances a **fixed 1/24 s per rendered frame** — it reads no wall time and no real frame delta, so the same build produces the same 2,160 frames on any machine, under a recorder or without one. ```lua local Film = require("ovation.film") Film.rewind() -- every reset hook fires, every cue re-arms, t = 0 Film.play() -- the Director advances it from the next rendered frame Film.on("mine", function(t, dt, shot) end) -- called every frame Film.at(47.0, "cue", function() end) -- once, as the clock crosses 47 s Film.reset("mine", function() end) -- back to the t = 0 state ``` `Film.stop()` freezes it with the frame still composed. `Film.seek(t)` lands on a moment for authoring and does not fire the cues in between. `Film.ramp`, `Film.smooth` and `Film.wave` are the shared shaping helpers: this film is made of waves crossing 1,412 identical figures. Only `ovation.director` calls `Film.tick`.
