What it does

game.sound.library

The clip catalogue and the mix. Everything the game asks for by name is answered here: Core.sfx("refused") reaches Library.SFX.refused, which says which clip it is, how loud, how far its pitch may wander, and which of the Sound component's sources plays it.

The component holds no clip names of its own. Adding a sound to the game is a row in this file.

Why the resolvers look the way they do

Every reference here is a literal identity inside its own asset.tryResolve thunk. That is not style. A computed asset reference cannot be statically pinned, the checker reports it as asset-ref-not-literal, and publishing refuses a world that carries one — so Library.clip(name) picks a thunk rather than building a name. Resolution is cached in the module's engine-held table, so a hot reload does not re-walk the registry for twenty-one clips.

Library.clip never raises: a missing clip must cost the game a sound, never a frame.

The mix

Four channels, and the levels below are the whole balance of the game: the bed sits under the score, the score sits under the hands, and the Keeper is louder than any of it.

ChannelLevelWhat is on it
ambient0.62the lamp-room bed
music0.55the two drones, and the moments that are music
sfx0.90the hands, the counter, the screens, the body
voice1.00the Keeper

Library.DUCK is what each of the first three is multiplied by while she is speaking, and DUCK_RATE how fast that comes in and lets go.

The rest

  • SFX — the sixteen bus names, their clips, levels, pitch jitter and source
  • GEIGER — the counter's rate law, its ceiling, where it stands in the room
  • SCORE — the two drones' levels, the dawn window they trade across, and what they are worth in each phase
  • BED — the bed's level, and how far it steps back on the end cards
  • GEIGER_PHASES — which phases the counter is powered in

⌬ Metadata
descriptionThe clip catalogue and the mix for First Light: Lucina — one row per sound name giving its clip, level, pitch jitter and which source plays it, plus the channel levels, the ducking factors, the Geiger's rate law and the score's dawn crossfade window. Every asset reference is a literal so the world stays publishable.
