What it does

Hacking

V's netrunner side of Banana 2077. The scene entrypoint attaches it in play to the entity mount_hacking; it needs game.rules (R) and the sibling modules game.hacking.breach, game.hacking.ui and game.hacking.props.

  • Breach Protocol: serves every R.requestBreach (quest terminals, ATMs, …) with the code-matrix minigame, then calls R.breachResult(id, success). Daemon 1 decides success; daemons 2–3 pay bonuses (eddies, RAM, items).
  • Hackable street furniture: ATMs, vending machines, access terminals and security cameras placed along the market street, Gold Row, Rust Alley and the arcade, each an interactable hackable once per profile (hack_<id> flags).
  • Quickhacks: with the shades on it tags the enemy V faces, shows its name and health near the reticle, and R / d-pad left / touch HACK opens the quickhack menu (focus quickhack) that spends RAM on owned quickhacks.
  • RAM regen at 4 Hz while V has control.

UI layers 160–165 only. Everything it spawns lives under hacking_rt and is removed on destroy; listeners are dropped on destroy, and reset restores it.

conforms to

zero/source-extract/v2

Hacking — V's netrunner side. Serves every R.requestBreach with the Breach Protocol minigame, puts hackable street furniture (ATMs, vending machines, access terminals, security cameras) in the city as interactables, tags the enemy V is looking at while the shades are on and runs quickhacks on it from a menu, and regenerates RAM. Lives on "mount_hacking" in play.

# game.rules Banana 2077's one shared module: palette, the Peel Kabuki street layout every slice builds to, tuning for the player, baton and enemies, the controls list, the live game state (`R.state`, kept across hot reloads), the event bus (`R.on` / `R.emit`) and the rule functions that change state (`damagePlayer`, `healPlayer`, `addEddies`, `setSunglasses`, `registerTarget`, `hit`, `reportKill`, `setPhase`, `startRun`). Required by every slice; owned by the lead. See `/zero/source/design/spec.md`.

# game.hacking.breach The Breach Protocol puzzle as pure data and rules, with no UI and no engine calls: a code matrix of 1C 55 BD E9 7A FF (5x5 at difficulty 1, 6x6 at 2, 7x7 at 3+), a buffer (5 to 8 slots), and 2 or 3 daemon sequences. Picks alternate row / column starting on the top row; a picked cell empties; a daemon uploads when its codes appear contiguously in the buffer and fails when the buffer no longer has room for it. Daemon 1 (and 2) are slices of a generated valid pick path, so daemon 1 is always solvable within the buffer. Called by the `Hacking` component, which draws the puzzle with `game.hacking.ui`. - `Breach.new(difficulty, seed?)` builds a puzzle. - `Breach.canPick / pick / lineCells / finished / wouldAdvance` play it.

# hack.inputMap The quickhack menu key: R / D-pad Left / touch HACK. The Hacking component activates it only while the run plays and the shades are on, so the touch button appears exactly when a quickhack can be sent.

# game.hacking.props The hackable street furniture of Banana City as procedural props: an ATM, a vending machine, a public access terminal and a wall-mounted security camera. Each kind is a few flat-shaded meshes built once (dark case, neon trim, lit screen) plus an optional Text3D sign under one root, so culling a prop costs a single position write. Called by the `Hacking` component, which places them, wires each one as an interactable and culls them at 4 Hz. - `P.spawn(parent, name, kind, x, y, z, yaw)` returns a `Prop` whose back stands at the point given, facing `yaw` (local +Z). - `P.snapToWall` slides a spot back against the facade behind it; `P.groundY` reads the walkable height. - `P.setHacked(prop, true)` turns the screen (or the camera's red eye) off. - `P.cull(prop, x, z, range)` parks the prop when V is out of range.

# game.hacking.ui The hacking slice's screens as widget trees: the Breach Protocol terminal (code matrix, buffer, daemon list), its timer strip and result card, the quickhack menu, the scanned-target readout beside the reticle with its upload bar, and a short glitch flash. It holds no state; the `Hacking` component builds a tree from the current puzzle or menu and registers it on layers 160-165 (`U.LAYERS`), redrawing only on input or events. - `U.breachGeom(size, bufferSize)` places the terminal; `U.breachTree`, `U.timerTree` and `U.resultTree` draw it. - `U.menuTree`, `U.tagTree` and `U.fxTree` draw the quickhack side. - Callback ids: `hk:cell:<r>:<c>`, `hk:abort`, `hk:done`, `hk:qh:<i>`, `hk:qhclose`.
